This painting was done in August 2002 during a three day workshop. I have developed a five page lesson on doing this same painting. I begin with the sketch I created from the concept imagery. The barn is not actually along a river, but I wanted to put it in that environment, as the workshop was on the St. Lawrence River in northern New York. Throughout the lesson I explain what I was considering before painting, and how I approached each part of the painting.
